Five-star hosting starts with setting clear expectations on your listing page. Guests want your place to be in great condition and look just like your photos. They also want all the amenities you’ve listed to be easy to find and use.
Guests will be less likely to wonder about or misjudge your place when you provide more details. You’ll find the tools you need to refresh your listing details in the Listings tab.
Create a photo tour
Help guests understand the layout of your home by using the photo tour to automatically sort your listing photos by room.
Start by including current images of every room and shared space.
- Use high-quality photos. Take photos in landscape mode with ample lighting. Upload the largest file size, at least 1024 by 683 pixels. Consider hiring a professional photographer.
- Upload multiple shots per room. Offer a mix of wide-angle, mid-range, and close-up photos. Zoom in on helpful details, like the universal phone charger on the nightstand or the coffee and tea setup in the kitchen.
- Highlight features and amenities. Provide photos of the sleeping arrangements, outdoor areas, and any special features for pets, families with children, or remote workers.
- Include accessibility features. Show how your place can accommodate people with limited mobility. Be sure to read Airbnb’s guide to photographing accessibility features.
Next, follow these steps to add your tour.
Select Create your photo tour. Airbnb’s custom AI engine instantly sorts your listing photos into 19 types of rooms and spaces. Photos it doesn’t recognize go under Additional photos.
Review your photo tour. Make sure you’ve included at least one photo of every room in your home. You can move, add, or delete photos.
Add clear descriptions of each photo that explain what each room or space offers.
To preview how your photos show up on your listing, go to Your space and tap the View button.
“Lots of people are visual and might spend more time on your photos than on your listing description,” says Sadie, a Superhost in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Refine your listing description
Guests want homes on Airbnb to match the listing descriptions. High-quality listing pages accurately describe what guests can expect to see, hear, and experience at your place during their stay.
Check that your Listing title adds unique details about your home and its surroundings. For example, “Quiet studio near Uffizi” conveys in a few words that the place is a centrally located apartment in Florence, Italy.
Under Listing description, let guests know what it’s like staying at your place. Provide helpful information about your location, decor, or hospitality. For example, you could explain that the deck overlooks the canyon at sunset or that your home is located above a coffeehouse that’s busy from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Under Your property, offer a general description of your rooms and spaces. Use this space to emphasize practical details that anticipate guests’ questions. For example, you might share that the backyard is fenced in, with plenty of space for kids and pets to run around.
Under Location sharing, you can also set a specific location for your property to help guests understand the area. Otherwise, they’ll only see a general location until after they book.
Clear, candid descriptions tend to work best. Overselling or exaggerating what you offer can lead to disappointment and negative reviews.
Add amenities
The Listing editor makes adding amenities easier than ever.
Under Amenities, tap the plus sign (+). You can view nearly 150 amenities by category or alphabetically, or search for one by name.
Select the plus sign next to any feature your home has.
Tap the View button to see exactly how the edits to your listing page will look to guests.
It’s important to add all your amenities and keep everything in working order. Guests can filter their searches for popular features and amenities like air conditioning, free parking, and a washer or dryer.
