If your like me and you go to historic homes on tour and you have a secret desire to live there, than this home is for you. To have the opportunity to actually sleep in a 1700s home complete with antique furnishings was such a wonderful opportunity. Definitely recommend reading through the history of the house and taking time to peruse the many interesting things in the home. I’m sure there are more comfortable/luxurious places to stay but as an experience and a stay all rolled into one this was a great one.

Me and my two year old had a great time on our weekend getaway. We were escaping the wildfire smoke at home, and the fresh farm air was beautiful. We loved walking around and seeing the animals. The house was clean and has everything we needed. I would stay here again with more people!

This is the second time staying here and it was just as wonderful as the last time we stayed here. It is very cozy and Alicia is such a great host. Highly recommend staying here.

Happy Trails was nicely updated and furnished with all the items we could think of. Beds were comfortable and heat system was excellent. The two bathrooms looked as if they had just been updated and showers had good water pressure. Eddie is a great host. Proactive reaching out to see if we needed anything and full of written information about area attractions. We would be happy to stay here anytime we come to this area of southwest Virginia.

What a beautiful, restored home! We were impressed with all the hard work the hosts did (themselves!) to restore the house, and the creative, beautiful, thoughtful design that was throughout the house. We loved the large kitchen and dining area, and the huge first floor bathroom! We appreciated that there was a main bedroom on the first floor and additional bedrooms on the second floor.

We needed somewhere to stay the night during a roadtrip and the r-pod was perfect for our needs! All of the basic essentials were provided, plus some thoughtful touches. As a plus size gal, the bathroom was a squeeze but still doable. Be warned, it was quite chilly inside the pod for an October night! There was a small space heater provided, which came in very handy, but bringing extra blankets might be a good idea (or dress warm for bed lol). Also, a heads up that there were some loose dogs hanging out around the pod when we arrived and left. They seemed friendly, but were not scared of the car, so be on the lookout when pulling in/out. Overall, a good choice!

The house is a very roomy old house. Beautiful old and antique furniture. We lived the old quilts.
